Is it ok to eat a kit kat bar with a peanut allergy?

Ok...so I used to eat kit kat bars ALL THE TIME when I was a small child, now I am seventeen and am still allergic to peanuts. Back when I was little the kit kat bars never said ANYTHING about peanuts and now they state "may contain peanuts" or "may contain traces of peanuts" but I cant remember. I got tested for having the peanut allergy about four weeks ago and I almost ped out after they pricked me for peanuts. But the doctor told me not to worry about stuff that says "may contain" but I am still weary about eating a kit kat bar that my parents want me to try. What should I do?
