How do you keep a target in the sights of your laser targeting pod in an F-16C?

I was playing Falcon 4.0, and yes I know that it's a video game and this isn't the video game section, and I seem to be having trouble keeping the target in my sights when dropping a laser guided bomb. I turn and try to orbit it but it doesn't work. It seems like as soon as I fly over it, even if I turn, it doesn't keep the target on the MFD. Any help would be appreciated. Again, I know this isn't the video game section but something tells me there are more people in this category that can answer this question than in that category.
