Texas wants to secede??!?!?

i mean really? i live in Texas and i was shocked by what Rick Perry said, i mean we do have oil we supply 4.8 million barrels of it a day but, we need protection, some kind of pport, alliance with different nations, etc... so, do you think Texans are better off being its own country?
